Creative Journaling (2.5hrs) – Thursday 11th January 2018
Have you ever kept a creative journal, or have you ever wanted to keep one? Journaling is a great way to nurture mindfulness and thankfulness. For centuries, it has helped people appreciate the small and simple things of life. 2018 is a great time to start! Never have we had so many choices of stationary to make our journals colourful and fun.
In this workshop, we will learn to document the details of your day, keep track of bright ideas, develop your doodling and hone your hand lettering. Together, we will also discuss some bullet journaling techniques and I will share some of my key tips on how to keep a personal illustrated journal all year long. The aim is for your pocket journal to soon become the first of many unique and highly treasured personal pieces.
With a small number of attendees, there will be plenty one-to-one tuition, discussion and hands-on practice. As part of the workshop, you will be given an opportunity to try your hand at a variety of illustration tools and materials which I will bring from my studio. These include a modern calligraphy set (ink and nib), an embossing set, a variety of stamps, a selection of washi tapes, a large Windsor&Newton watercolour set and more.
You will also take home a creative journaling kit, including::
- 1 Moleskine Kraft Brown Plain Pocket Journal
- 1 Towbow calligraphy pen
- 1 pocket sized insert of carefully selected prompts to spark your creativity
Our hosts, Twelve Triangles, will also provide a warm beverage of your choice and a slice of cake.
Please note that tickets can not be reimbursed.
Although it is not essential, some prior experience in lettering would be beneficial for this workshop.
